Our Scottish Agronomy Innovation Group, led by eight core members, visited Balbirnie Farms, where regenerative practices have been strategically introduced over the last few years by farms manager, member and board director David Aglen. This was followed by a visit to Cornceres, Anstruther, where member Craig Peddie has been focusing on establishing spring bean varieties in the autumn (pictured). These both gave some valuable insights into what is bringing the greatest dividends as we enter the next chapter of ‘greener’ agricultural policy. The next steps are for the group to bring forward ideas for trials they would like to carry out on their farms to overcome challenges and improve efficiencies.
