Scottish Agronomy AGM & Conference

We warmly invite you to join us for our AGM (for farmer members only) and conference (open to all current members).

Our speakers this year include Lorna Slater MSP; Director of Technical and Sustainability at Muntons, Dr Nigel Davies, and Bill Angus of Angus Wheat Consultants Ltd (AWC).

Our farmer speaker will be announced in the new year.

 

 

Meet the Speakers

Lorna Slater

Lorna Slater MSP was appointed as Minister for Green Skills, Circular Economy and Biodiversity in August 2021. She supports the Cabinet Secretary for Finance and the Economy and the Cabinet Secretary for Net Zero, Energy and Transport, with a focus on activity including the Green Industrial Strategy, green skills, the circular economy, nature recovery targets, biodiversity and plant health. She also serves as a member of Cabinet Sub-Committee on Climate Emergency.

Dr Nigel Davies

Nigel is Director of Technical and Sustainability at Muntons and runs his own consultancy specialising in sustainability strategy support and carbon footprinting for the cereal supply chain and providing independent technical support to the food, malting and beverage supply chain (www.maltdoctor.co.uk). He is Honorary Associate Professor at Nottingham University, School of Biosciences.

Bill Angus

Angus Wheat Consultants Ltd (AWC) was established by wheat breeder Bill Angus to work with clients in the UK – and worldwide – to increase wheat yields on-farm while maintaining quality and optimising inputs. He also collaborates to enhance variety development through ‘public-private’ partnerships.
